As per the City of Santa Fe and College of Santa Fe requirements the Pool Swim Leg will be two “2” separate “serpentine” pool swim legs for a total of 16 lanes. After completing the first pool swim leg you must reenter the pool at the beginning and repeat a second swim leg then exit to the finish. KIDS COURSE In order of leg sequence 1 Mile Bike, 5K Run, 200m Pool Swim AWARDS: All finishers will receive a finish ribbon. ADULT INDIVIDUAL and CLYDESDALE MEN and ATHENA WOMEN race 1st , 2nd , 3rd place male and female age category finishers in each age category will receive a medal. KIDS 1st , 2nd , 3rd place male and female in the 10 - 16 age category will receive a medal. ADULT 3 MEMBER TEAMS, ALL MALE, ALL FEMALE, CO-ED 1st , 2nd , 3rd place teams will receive a medal. RULES: TIMING TAG PICKUP AND BODY MARKING, must present your BIB NUMBER OR ID Kids Triathlon, Saturday June 21 beginning at 6:30 am through 7:30 am Adult Triathlon, Sunday June 22 beginning at 5:30 am 6:30am CLYDESDALE MEN and ATHENA WOMEN Weigh beginning at 5:30 am 6:30am at the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center, 6401 Richards Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Shallow Pool entry, no diving allowed Helmets are required on the Bike. Race Numbers and Ankle Timing Tag: All athletes are required to wear race numbers during the run and ankle timing tag at all times during the race. Numbers must be clearly visible at all times. Numbers may not be altered in any way that prevents clear identification. Bike: Athletes must ride right and only move left to complete a legal pass and must not block athletes attempting a legal pass. Athletes must not pass on the right. Drafting is not allowed. An athlete should not attempt to complete a pass unless the athlete is highly confident in their ability to complete the pass in the allotted amount of time. Once an athlete enters the draft zone of another cyclist there is only one exit and that is out the front. Helmets must be worn and securely fastened at all times while in possession of your bike. This means from the time you remove your bike from the rack at the start of the bike leg, until after you have placed your bike on the rack at the finish of the bike leg. Assistance: No assistance other than that offered by race staff (including volunteers), medical officials and active participants may be used. A participant shall not physically assist the forward progress of another participant on any part of the course. Headphones and Communication Devices: Participants may carry a phone (such as, mounted on bike handlebars or in an arm band) but may not use communication devices of any type - including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches and two-way radios - in any distractive manner during the competition. A distractive manner includes but is not limited to making or receiving phone calls, sending or receiving text messages, playing music, using social media, taking photographs or using one- or two-way radio communication. Using any communication device in this manner during the competition may result in disqualification.
